Tour of Matt Abergel, the chef of the restaurant Ronin (Hong Kong)

On 6 December the restaurant Pescatore will host the event, which will crown a gastronomic year in Moscow. Gala dinner with star seafood!


The famous chef from Hong Kong Matt Abergel comes to the Metropolitan restaurant Pescatore just for one evening! Matt is a long-time friend of the chef of Pescatore restaurant Mido Mustafa and they have already met in the kitchen not once! However, last time it was in the kitchen of the restaurant Ronin, which Matt features. On the occasion of his visit to Pescatore there will be a gala dinner! All the culinary trends of the season will meet under the knives of two famous chefs, Mido Mustafa (Pescatore) and Matt Abergel (Ronin – Hong Kong), who will do the real culinary magic this evening.

Pescatore restaurant's guests will be able to choose from a fairly large menu, composed on the occasion of the gala dinner with such specialties as:
Shigoku oysters, served with crushed ice from the marinade of red shiso
Sashimi of sea bream with salted mullet caviar
Lightly smoked mackerel with persimmon
Tempura lightly smoked milt
Smoked Bonito with mushrooms and hot sauce jalapeno
Japanese noodles with sauce from cod caviar
And many other dishes with an Asian twist!

Matt Abergel is a co-owner and chef of the famous restaurants Yardbird and Ronin (Hong Kong). Early in his career, Matt had worked in Japanese restaurants in Canada, until he moved to New York to work in the restaurant Masa, which is now a 3* Michelin. Having moved to Hong Kong in 2009, he was so inspired by the food culture that he decided to open his own restaurant. In 2011, he opened Yardbird. And in 2013 his second restaurant Ronin (small place, specializing in fish and seafood) was launched. In 2016, the restaurant Ronin was included in the Diners club 50 best discovery series. And in 2017 it was marked No. 45 in the ranking San Pellegrino "50 best restaurants" in Asia.


Mido Mustafa is the chef of the restaurant Pescatore, he has an immense experience working in the best fish restaurants in China and Europe. Mido started his career in Italy, then worked in restaurants in Russia and in the United States. He had six months training at Langosteria — one of the best seafood restaurants in Milan.


After having Mido worked for several weeks in the cult restaurant Ronin, the chefs came up with the idea to hold a joint gala dinner in Moscow someday.
And finally, this idea was embodied in life!
